Dr. DiGiovanni is the founder of Confluence Psychological Services in Fredericton. He is a licensed psychologist in New Brunswick and registered member of the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick. Trained as a pediatric neuropsychologist, he conducts comprehensive psychological, psychoeducational, and neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults.

Dr. DiGiovanni earned his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Psychology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute before completing a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and a doctorate in Counseling Psychology at Boston College. His dissertation examined the use of online support groups for individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI).

He completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where he trained across multiple multidisciplinary settings, including pediatric concussion, autism, and ADHD clinics, as well as a NICU follow-up program and an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation hospital. He was then appointed Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Penn State Health, where he conducted evaluations, provided consultation services within a multidisciplinary pediatric concussion clinic, and supervised postdoctoral fellows.

He has published in several journals including Child Development, Journal of Youth and Adolescence, Journal of Research on Adolescence, and the International Journal of Clinical Psychiatry and Mental Health.

Dr. DiGiovanni has extensive experience assessing youth with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, concussion, moderate to severe traumatic brain injury, sickle cell disease, genetic conditions, intellectual disabilities, learning disorders, spina bifida, seizures and epilepsy, and other medical or neurodevelopmental conditions affecting cognition. He also conducts evaluations for emotional and behavioral concerns, including anxiety, mood disorders, and more complex mental health presentations.

Combining his engineering and psychology backgrounds, his clinical approach emphasizes warmth, clarity, and practical guidance. He focuses on translating complex assessment findings into actionable recommendations that support families, educators, and healthcare providers.

Dr. DiGiovanni is a dual American-Canadian citizen with longstanding family ties to New Brunswick and Quebec. His Irish, English, Acadian, and Québécois heritage traces to these regions, and he maintains strong connections to New Brunswick. He divides his time between his practice in Portland, Maine (Beacon Light Psychological Services) and his work in New Brunswick. Confluence Psychological Services reflects his desire to expand access to assessment services across the province.

Outside of clinical work, Dr. DiGiovanni enjoys tracing his family history and spending time along the Miramichi River with his husband and their German Shepherd, Lenox.
